Belated Polish Party Friday- Ombre/ Homemade Stamping!

Hey Poyos!
So here is my MacGyver/ Kitchen Impossible/ Nail Art post! :P

You will see what I mean.
You guys said you wanted Ombre and Homemade stamping, so that's what I gave you!

First off, here are the things I used...

A pencil (one with an eraser!)

Sinful Colors polishes (Cinderella, Let Me Go, Savage, Ocean Blue, Midnight Blue) Nailtiques silver

I just wanted to show you the ombre I created. I think it turned out really well.
(Plus they're all Sinful Colors, so they're not expensive =])

So now I hear you all saying "Where's the stamp?"
Well, that's where the pencil with eraser comes into play.
I took the eraser and cut it with scissors; that was my free-form stamp!

It gave me the results below [I stamped by dipping the "stamp" in the Nailtiques silver]

I think it stamped pretty well for being an eraser that I cut to make =P

Anyways, hope you liked this post! I hope that you see this and it inspires you or makes you think about making your own stamps [or something like that =P]

Until next time PoYos,
Peace (and have a great labor day!)

Trio of Ellagee Polishes! Not the Droids You're Looking For, Beam Me Up and the Hottest Spot North of Havana! (Picture Heavy)

Review disclaimer: I was given these polishes so that I could review them. I am expected to give my honest review, in exchange for the polishes.

With that over, I want to start off by saying I love when polish makers have nerdy related collections of polishes. The left and middle polishes in the picture to the right are from Ellagee's Sci-Fi Geeks collection, whereas the right is from her Holographic Hit List! (I love the names!!)
Let's start off with Not The Droids You're Looking For, shall we?
First off, in case you're not a big Star Wars fan, I figured I would break the ice with a clip that I found on Youtube. It is indicative of the real scene but it's Lego (R) so it makes it that much cooler.
Here's the link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56_S0WeTkzs
Now that you know where the polish's name comes from, here's the polish itself! Lovely right?

First off, if you love glitter top coats, then you will love this polish. The gold and blue is amazing on the nails (I have a picture below for you to check out on my nails!)
The only downside I could find was that the teal blue glitters were more scarce in the bottle and I couldn't get them out as easily as I wanted. That being said, this is one of those polishes that you don't mind hunting for the teal pieces because once you have them, they look so gorgeous that it was worth the effort! :)

Holy Macro Batman! Would you look at this?!

May the Macro be with you! :P

Below are my pictures of Not The Droids You're Looking For on my nails. I did two coat of the polish over ManGlaze ILF. I think the two work really well together, as the dark teal from ILF accentuates the gold and light teal glitters!

The last thing I wanted to show you with this polish is how perfect it is when it's matted.

I did just the thumb by itself, but you can tell that the matte texture enhanced the natural colors of the glitters and by taking the shine off of them, to me, made it that much more beautiful.

Next we move on to the other polish in the Sci-Fi Geeks Collection: Beam Me Up!

Now that you have seen it, I hope you realize how dazzling this polish is! This polish has a clear base, so it makes this polish very subtle, but DO NOT be fooled! This is a polish that can stand up with the rest of the golds on the market!

To illustrate this, I did a comparison shot of some other famous golds/ oranges!
Starting with my thumb and working down my fingers I have:
Thumb: Ellagee~ Beam Me Up
Index: L.A. Colors~ Wavelength
Middle: Sally Girl~Satsuma
Ring: (Just the base) Sinful Colors~ Unicorn
Pinky: OPI~ Goldeneye

Ellagee's polish is the winner by a landslide!

To me, it's simplicity and beauty all rolled into a polish! :)

To make this even more easy to tell, I have magnified the image, so that you can see the beautiful golden glitters, whether it is in the macro bottle shot on the left, or in the nail shot on the right.

The final polish I have to show you guys is from Ellagee's Holographic Hit List Collection and it's called
the Hottest Spot North of Havana!

Just want to preface the rest of this post by saying this is my favorite holo. That's right I said it! My favorite holo!! That's how amazing this holo is!

Not even mentioning that my favorite color is blue, and my favorite shade is medium blue, not sky, but not navy, that color in the middle; this is still a heck of a polish!

Let me explain, the shade of blue that the amazing lady Laura behind Ellagee has used accentuates the shimmery glittery goodness that is the holo in her polish. This polish to me is like the color of the sky post rain, where it's just calming down after the stormy rain and wind.

This polish is just holo enough that it goes with pretty much anything you want to wear, but not enough holo that you are blinded by your nails when you look at them in the sun. (That has happened to me before haha!)

Just look at these beauties!

Here's my thumb pic which shows what I wasn't able to show before, just how beautiful this holo-y masterpiece is!

These polishes inspired me to do something I don't often do. That is making rings using the polishes!
I used the Hottest Spot North of Havana to make the ring cabochon in the top picture and used all three polishes to make the subsequent cabochons, with the last picture being the final ring product!

Here's Ellagee's store link, in case you want to pick up all of these polishes, http://www.ellagee.com/
She sells all that I have mentioned on there and you can even buy her nail polish rings that she has made! :)

Hope you enjoyed my post!

Until next time,
Peace,
Rikya :)

Post of You're Such a Square by Hit Polish Nail Lacquer and Water Works by LynBDesigns

Here is my photo spam post a day late. I didn't have a lot of time yesterday because I had to go to a baby shower as well as a fourth of july celebration, so I was busy all day!

Before I get started, make sure you are following me on Bloglovin or email or whatever else you can use to follow a blog, because GFC is going away on July 1st! I linked to another blogger on my facebook page that tells you the easiest way to do this and it only takes a couple of clicks!!!

Let's get back to pretty things now SO here's my post!

I can see you readers scratching your head and trying to figure out why these two are paired together.

I will give you guys a moment to guess......
......
.......

Give up?

They're the same except the right has Water Works on top!

The mani starts off as Sinful Colors Unicorn with topper of You're such a Square by Hit Polish.

First off, this was the first time that I had seen a completely square glittered polish (which I love!!!). It gave a different dimension to the polish that I had never seen before.
The polish also included different colors of different sizes of squares, which I think paired perfectly with the yellow of Unicorn.

So then, being my lazy self I wanted a blue mani but didn't want to pull out the nail polish remover just yet. Guess what? My new mani was born!!
By putting a coat or two of Water Works over the top, which originally is circle glitters of shades of blue and green, I got a wonderful new mani!

But enough about what I say, what do you think?!

You can buy amazing polishes like You're Such a Square from here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/HitPolishNailLacquer
and fantastical polishes like Water Works from here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/lynbdesigns

Until next time,
Peace,
Rikya

Spellbound Nails- Glitter Me Gumdrops and Lollipop Princess

I have the distinct pleasure of introducing you to (in case you have missed out on her awesomeness :) ) the amazetastical Spellbound Nails!! (Yes, I just made up a word!)

Being the lucky girl that I am, I actually won her contest, and was able to pick out two polishes from her line inspired by the game Candyland.
First off, one of my favorite games growing up was CandyLand, so I was super duper excited
Secondly, the colors in her polishes are bright and beautiful!
But that's enough from me, let me just show you them!

Just look at the polish bottle. There is a heart stuck on to the cap! I just love when polish makers take that extra little touch to make their polish stand out.

On the left is Glitter Me Gumdrops and on the right is Lollipop Princess.

Glitter Me Gumdrops is a multicolored glitter bonanza, whereas Lollipop Princess is more princessly refined with golds and pinks.

Both are amazing!

Here are some bottle shots just to illustrate how fantastic these are.

Below I have shown how I used these. I tried to do these polishes justice, by pairing them with colors that would accentuate all of the glitters that they both possess.

I paired Glitter Me Gumdrops with Tokyo Pearl and Black on Black, both by Sinful Colors.

I loved this color, because it seemed like whatever color was the base, it seemed to show different glitters. It was almost like I was unlocking new secrets from the polish, (which was super fun, because I love secrets! :) )

I paired Lollipop Princess with Sinful Colors' Black on Black and Ruby Ruby.

I also loved this color, because it was a great pairing of glitters in the polish as well as a polish that you could wear to work and would still be professional in my eyes. It wasn't too out there, but it was still done with a bunch of flair, which I love!

If you want to purchase any of her polishes, go to http://www.etsy.com/shop/SpellboundNails

Hope you enjoyed this post (I sure did!)

If you want to ask me anything about it, comment in the comments!

Until next time,
Peace,
Rikya

My spirit fingers - Butterfly fairies

I want to start off by apologizing for my lack of posting in the last week or so. I have had two finals, and a cold to get over, so I apologize.
Thanks for you guys for sticking around!

Now back to the blogging!!!

This is Butterfly Fairies by the wonderful My Spirit Fingers!

Do you see how amazing this is?? It's purple base, with purple glitters of different shades and silver butterflies!

To make my mani, which I freaking love, I paired Butterfly fairies with Sinful Colors Tokyo Pearl as the base. I think it accentuated the purple really nicely, and gave you a clear idea of the dispersal of the glitters as well.

In addition, I also wanted to show you guys a different take on Butterfly fairies, so I put it over the matte stylings of Manglaze's ILF (a very raunchy name, yet loved the polish non the less!)

Do you like these pairings?
Comment below!

Today's Butterfly fairies from My Spirit Fingers can be purchased at https://www.facebook.com/myspiritfingers/app_150178545006427

Valentine's Day/ Single's Awareness Day Indie Polish Post!

I promised you guys that an indie post was coming, and here it is!
Here is my valentine's day inspired post with Love is a Kitten by Nail Potions, and Punk'd Up Betty by Pretty & Polished.

I used Sinful Colors Cream Pink and Let Me Go.

These are both beautiful pinks. Believe me, I am not a big fan of pinks at all, but I love the ways that these polishes look.

Here are the Indies:
Kunimitsu Nail Potions' Love is a Kitten, and Pretty & Polished's Punk'd Up Betty.

The final picture below is my final product. It would be perfect for valentine's day.

The thumb is Let Me Go, with a Cream Pink bow.
Index finger is Love is a Kitten over Let Me Go.
Middle finger is Punk'd Up Betty over Let Me Go.
Ring finger is Love is a Kitten over Cream Pink.
Pinkie finger is Punk'd Up Betty over Cream Pink.

Hope you all liked this! This mani was inspired by valentine's day. Although I don't have a boyfriend this valentine's day, it's still a day to be thankful for all of the love in your lives. It may not be a boyfriend or girlfriend, but it may be your family member, a friend, or even a kind face on a stranger while you are waiting for a bus. Love is all around us in this world; you just got to go out and find it!

Until next time,
Peace,
Rikya
